This is a handmade wooden macuahuitl. This is a traditional Mesoamerican close-combat weapon closely associated with the Aztecs, made as a wooden club or paddle inspired by historic macuahuitl forms lined with obsidian blades along the edges. Derived from Nahuatl, the word roughly translates to "hand-wood."
Each macuahuitl is handmade to order with a 6-8 week lead time. Finish, color, and detail placement can vary slightly from piece to piece.
