Yaoyaoqui is the Black Tezcatlipoca. Tezcatlipoca is literally means "Smoking mirror" but philosophically it means "our memory, consciousness and intelligence." The story says that Tezcatlipoca lost his foot in battle and put in a mirror on his foot to continue fighting. This mirror on his his foot is depicted in the image. He also has another "Smoking mirror" on the back of his head that represents the flowing of ideas in his mind. This is the metaphor for our consciousness and intelligence.
